About Us

Our mission is to help you to garden in a more sustainable way by making it easy for you to find the best planet-friendly gardening products in one place. This includes plastic-free, peat-free, sustainably sourced, fair trade, organic, natural and biodegradable products.

For us, gardening in a wilder way means gardening in greater harmony with nature, no matter the size of your space. According to the State of Nature report 2023, the UK is now one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth. We also import around four-fifths of our fruit and nearly half of our vegetables. Whether it’s encouraging wildlife into your garden or growing more of your own fresh food, our gardens, and even indoor spaces, provide us with a huge opportunity to make a difference.

Our planet-friendly products

  • We prioritise products made with plastic-free, natural and biodegradable materials, especially those that are ethically and sustainably sourced.
  • Most of our products dont contain virgin plastic or even recycled plastic. We select products made with these materials only in the absence of biodegradable alternatives.
  • We seek out products that are certified by ethical and environmental organisations.
  • We only sell natural pest and disease control products.
  • We don’t sell any peat products.
  • We love to promote zero-waste products made from materials that would otherwise go to waste.
  • We prefer to stock UK- as well as European-made products. However, we do stock planet-friendly products from further afield, especially when suppliers promote ethical and sustainable practices in developing countries.

Packaging

Retail Packaging

Most of our products’ retail packaging is plastic-free, and we seek out products that don’t have plastic in their retail packaging. We also work with suppliers to eradicate the use of plastic in their retail packaging.

Our Packaging

All our packaging, fill and tape is plastic-free, recyclable and biodegradable. We use FSC-certified or recycled cardboard boxes. For our fill, we use recycled paper and shredded cardboard. Our tape is always made of paper, most often with a natural gummed adhesive.
