Plastic-Free Garden Fleece (Lightweight)

BioFleece® horticultural fleece provides a fossil fuel-free solution to protecting your plants from cold weather and light frosts. At 18 grams per square metre it functions as a lightweight layer, protecting plants down to -1°C by creating a warm pocket of air around them. Unlike petroleum-based garden fleece, BioFleece® is made from plants, or starch-based polylactic acid (PLA), and therefore more sustainable.

Protecting plants early and late in the growing season has become increasingly important due to the weather becoming more unpredictable. Ideal for use on spring sown plants and early germinating seedlings. Can be used to extend the growing season later into the autumn and earlier into the spring. You can wrap it around larger, more tender shrubs and plants too. BioFleece® can also be used to line greenhouses and cold frames, improving their insulation.

This garden fleece has enough porosity to ensure moisture can escape, reducing humidity and disease risk to plants. This feature also allows heat to escape in hot conditions.

BioFleece® will last for up to two years without biodegrading.
