Solitary Bee Cell

This single cell bee cell provides a nesting site for solitary bees and can be used to increase nesting spaces in small gaps in walls and log piles or anywhere where sites are scarcer like built-up urban environments. Its hexagonal shape means it’s easy to stack several together.

Each bee cell is made of concrete, using 75% recycled material from the Cornish China Clay industry, making it more sustainable.

Position each cell in a south facing, warm and sunny place, clear of vegetation. Ideally, the bee cell should be no less than half a metre from the ground.

Solitary bees are beneficial insects, helping to pollinate the flowers of many plants including our fruit and vegetables. With a decline in natural habitats our gardens are more important than ever for insects.
